Raaka is devoted to making the most uncommonly delicious chocolate the world has ever known; they approach it as a food – not a candy. At our Brooklyn factory, they make everything from scratch with ethically sourced, single-origin, certified organic, unroasted cacao, crafting unique recipes that bring out the best of the bean. They work directly with growers to source high-quality cacao and pay beyond fair trade prices for it.
All of Raaka's chocolate is certified kosher, non-GMO, organic, vegan, and gluten-free, and is made in small batches from bean-to-bar in Red Hook, Brooklyn. This bar delivered the same day around Singapore and express delivered internationally.

When Raaka's people make chocolate they're after something that feels the way Raaka sounds: strong, wild, playful, and most of all, different. “Raaka” means “raw” in Finnish. The company does not have any Finish connections or origins, but the cadence of the word captures the essence of their processes and chocolates. The geniuses say that Raaka chocolates are made of unroasted cacao beans, which preserves the bold, bright, and fruitier flavors of the beans. Whatever the case, these chocolates are definitely Raaka-stars in our books and in our tummies.
I had high hopes, with the excellent Mast chocolate, also from Brooklyn, as the yardstick. Raaka certainly carries all the socially approved marketing credentials: bean to bar, transparent trading etc. But these hardly matter
when the few varieties I sampled —pink sea salt; bananas foster;
coconut milk — were so tasteless they were near interchangeable even if ginger snap was the most distinct of the lot.
