About bean-to-bar chocolate

Bean-to-bar Chocolate: Flavorful Adventure

In our quest to define fine chocolate succinctly, we've coined this phrase: 'Bean-to-bar chocolate is chocolate without any CRAP (Child Labor, Rainforest Destruction, Artificial Flavors and Palm Oil) in it' Yet, there's more to it than that. Bean-to-bar chocolate begins with the foundation of organic cacao beans, grown with care in an organic environment. Once these beans are harvested, fermented, and dried, the chocolate-making journey begins, and here's the twist—nothing foreign is added, and nothing is taken away. This is the essence of bean-to-bar chocolate. Although it's worth noting that occasionally, a minuscule amount of soy or sunflower lecithin derivative might be introduced as a smoothing agent. However, the ideal remains: none at all.

It often comes as a surprise that not all chocolate is as natural and straightforward as bean-to-bar chocolate. Not all chocolate is crafted from a single, simple ingredient—cacao beans. In fact, there are approximately a hundred officially sanctioned yet entirely unnecessary additives in the world of chocolate. And these additives aren't limited to mass-market chocolate; even some premium 'Belgian' chocolates contain a myriad of them. But bean-to-bar chocolate stands apart. While it may be a small presence in the grand chocolate landscape, its' popularity is steadily growing. Like the determined Little Engine That Could, this bean-to-bar chocolate movement, in which Hello Chocolate proudly participates, is steadily pulling the rest of the chocolate world toward a higher standard. Its' influence far exceeds its size making it the only viable luxury chocolate option on the market.

Bean-to-bar Chocolate: Production

In the new Chocolate World of Bean-to-bar Adventure Willy Wonka would look like a proper hipster.

He stands as one of the world's boutique chocolate makers, and here's the delicious scoop: He would do it all in-house! From roller-coaster roasting of cocoa beans to the conche's confectionary ballet, every step happening right here on his tiny chocolate playground (yes, in bean-to-bar chocolate realities the factory wouldn't be huge). He would also get rid of all his umpa lumpas, because slavery is unethical. Or, at least, he would treat the equally. Imagine it as a sweet, chocolatey workshop where he crafts our magical treats with unmatched finesse.

What makes our hero chocolate makers truly extraordinary is that the whole bean-to-bar movement survives on their enthusiasm that takes cocoa beans and turns them into delectable bars of organic and fair-trade chocolate, from bean to bar!

Their chocolate creations center is a sprawling haven of creativity, where the mystical transformation from bean to bar unfolds. Each cocoa type gets its own red-carpet treatment, tailored to its unique personality—the subtleties, the extravagances, and the aromatic origins of chocolate. It's a flavorful adventure that's as diverse as the chocolate itself!

What our customers say

  • Elizabeth N. (delivery to Los Angeles, CA)

    Birthday Present.

Bought a selection for my brother-in-law who is a dark chocolate lover. He was very enthusiastic!

  • Anthony H. (delivery to Potomac, MD, USA)

My “go to” for dinner with friends

Well done. This is what bean to bar is supposed to be! Beau Cacao’s three “single origin” bars have become my favorite way to introduce friends to high quality chocolate. They’re very similar in content (78%, Indonesian), but the slight geographical
differences create a remarkably difference in flavor profiles.

  • Ihor S. (delivery to Benahavis, Malaga, Spain)

Never tried craft chocolate before. Loved it.

I never understood the hype behind the craft chocolate. Now I do. I had to try it once to understand the difference and taste superiority compared to mainstream commercial chocolate. Hello Chocolate was very effective in solving a shipment issue so its customer service reinforces the quality of the product.
