Origins & Founders

Founded in 2018 in Montreal, Allo Simonne is the brainchild of two Belgians: Quentin Ryckaert and Vincent Coja. Their partnership began in their native Belgium—Quentin with a background in pastry and chocolate from the Hotel Management School in Namur, and Vincent after years in the construction industry. Their shared passion for high-quality, artisanal confections inspired them to enter the chocolate world together.

The brand name is a heartfelt tribute to Quentin’s grandmother, Simonne Allo—a modern woman with a taste for the finer things and a love of sharing. That spirit continues to infuse the brand’s products and philosophy.

Philosophy & Craft

Allo Simonne produces its products—from spreads to chocolate bars—entirely in-house at their Montreal workshop. They practice a bean-to-bar approach, maintaining control over each stage, from roasting nuts and cocoa to final packaging.

Their guiding principles emphasize simplicity (minimal and pronounceable ingredient lists), ethical sourcing, environmental stewardship, and health-consciousness. Their offerings are free from added oils (such as palm oil), preservatives, and are suitable for a variety of dietary needs—many being vegan, gluten-free, and peanut-free.

They are also B-Corp certified, reflecting their commitment to high social and environmental standards.

Signature Products

Chocolate & Hazelnut Spreads. One of Allo Simonne’s most-loved products is their Jaguar Chocolate Spread. Made with hazelnuts and 70% Jaguar dark chocolate (from the rare white “Jaguar” cacao bean), this vegan spread is creamy, smooth, and intensely flavorful. It has won both gold (Canada) and silver (world finals, International Chocolate Competition in Italy, 2019) awards.

Their spread lineup includes 14 flavors—such as Crunchy Coffee, Pistachio Matcha, Dark Chocolate with Nibs, Maple, Hazelnut Praliné, and more—all handcrafted and designed for indulgence without compromise.

Bean-to-Bar Chocolates. In 2023, Allo Simonne expanded into bean-to-bar chocolate bars. These are created using their proprietary blends and finished with a thin layer of dark chocolate. Their lineup includes about 13 varieties (as of now), including single-origin or creatively flavored bars like “Maple–Mexico 68%,” “Jaguar 70%,” and “Zorzal 100%,” among others.

Recognition & Awards. The brand has received accolades at the International Chocolate Awards in 2017, 2019, 2022, and 2023 for its exceptional spreads and bars.
