Origin & Craftsmanship
This bar is part of Slitti’s Tortina / Mandorle line, where premium cocoa is combined with roasted nuts to create a richly textured experience. The company selects almonds, hazelnuts, or a mix thereof, and incorporates them directly into extra-dark chocolate for a bold, nut-forward effect. Slitti avoids soy lecithin in these nut-studded products to preserve purity.

Flavor Profile
You’ll first notice deep, dark chocolate intensity, followed by the warm, toasty character of roasted almonds and hazelnuts. The nut oils and textures meld with the cocoa, offering a satisfying balance between bitter chocolate and naturally sweet, nutty richness. The finish is clean and lingering, without overwhelming bitterness.

Accolades & Recognition
Slitti’s Mandorle / Tortina line is among its best-known classic offerings—praised by chocolatiers and aficionados for marrying nut inclusions with fine dark chocolate.

Tasting & Pairing Guide

Let a square rest and soften on your tongue so that the chocolate’s depth opens first. Then allow the roasted nut notes to emerge gradually, layering texture and aromatic warmth. Pair it with a bold red wine like Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot, which can stand up to the nut + chocolate intensity. For a non-alcoholic alternative, a roasted black tea or nutty oolong (like hojicha) complements the nutty elements elegantly. For snacks, toasted almonds or a nut-based biscotti echo the bar’s character and enhance the crunch.

Summary

Mandorle Dark Chocolate with Hazelnuts & Almonds is a timeless Slitti creation that blends premium nuts with deep dark cocoa. It offers a refined nut-and-chocolate experience—rich but balanced, textured but elegant. A great choice for lovers of nut-infused dark chocolate.

Vegan, Dairy-free

The story of Slitti begins in 1969, when Luciano Slitti opened a coffee roasting business in Monsummano Terme, in the province of Pistoia, Tuscany. His vision was simple: to roast and offer exceptional coffee that stood out from the standard fare.In 1988, Luciano passed control of the company to his son Andrea Slitti, along with support from his brother Daniele. A couple of years later, in 1990, Andrea, driven by a burgeoning passion for chocolate, expanded the business to include artisanal chocolate production.

Typical formulations for Slitti’s almond dark chocolates include: almonds (20% roasted), extra dark chocolate 80% (cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa butter) with minimal additives or lecithin.

Contains: tree nuts. May contain: milk or traces of other nuts.
