A 70% organic dark laced with six traditional chai spices. Warm, balanced, a whisper of heat.

Above-the-fold callout
This bar exists because BOHO's founder is, by his own admission, obsessed with chai — he chased its variations around the world and always meant to put it into chocolate. The result is one of the best-balanced spiced bars we've tasted: a robust 70% organic dark carrying cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, anise seed, cayenne and black pepper, with no single spice shouting over the others and just a whisper of cayenne heat at the close. Warming, aromatic, and decorated with awards on both sides of the Atlantic.

Origin & Craftsmanship
The craft here is in the blend, not just the base. Plenty of makers add cinnamon and call it chai; BOHO builds a proper masala — six organic spices layered so each supports the next rather than dominating — over their robust 70% organic dark. It's made from scratch in small batches in Florence, Massachusetts, on the same ethical foundation as the rest of the range: organic cacao bought directly from smallholder farms at well over the commodity price. Vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free, with nothing artificial anywhere in it.

Flavor Profile
Deep, rich dark chocolate first, then the chai unfolds in sequence — warm cardamom and cinnamon, the brightness of ginger, a savoury note of anise and black pepper — before a gentle cayenne heat arrives to finish. Beautifully balanced and genuinely warming, the kind of bar that tastes like a cup of good chai looks: layered, comforting, a little exotic. Perfect cold-weather chocolate.

Award & Recognition
Widely decorated: a Bronze at the International Chocolate Awards (Americas), an Academy of Chocolate award winner, and a Good Food Awards finalistrecognition from three separate juries for a spiced bar, which is notably hard to pull off.

Tasting & Pairing Guide
Let a square melt slowly so the spices arrive in their proper order and the cayenne warmth builds at the end. It's the natural companion to a cup of actual chai or a spiced black tea, doubling down on the theme, and it's lovely beside a mulled wine or a dark rum on a cold evening. For contrast, a scoop of vanilla ice cream turns it into an instant dessert. A standout gift for the tea drinker and the spice lover.

Summary
The Spicy Chai 70% is BOHO's spice masterpiece: a robust organic dark carrying a properly balanced six-spice chai blend with a whisper of heat, made vegan and from scratch in Massachusetts, and recognised by the ICA, the Academy of Chocolate and the Good Food Awards alike. Warming, layered and genuinely distinctive — the dark bar to reach for when the weather turns.

The Beginning...

The BOHO Chocolate journey commenced with founder Charles Burke, who began his chocolate venture by selling chocolates and confections from a small New England shop over twenty-five years ago. Driven by a deep desire to craft his own chocolate, Charles was captivated by the bean-to-bar manufacturing process. With no prior experience, he embarked on an adventure, booking a flight to South America with a friend. There, they joined forces with TAZA Chocolate and visited farmers, cooperatives, and local chocolate makers, leading to his love affair with chocolate making and the birth of BOHO Chocolate.

Keep in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and strong odors. Store at maximum
18 ° C in its original packaging

Our chocolate makers proudly refrain from using any artificial stabilizers or preservatives in their products, making their creations more temperature-sensitive compared to other premium chocolates.

To ensure the optimal taste experience, it's advisable to store our chocolates in a cool, dry place where the temperature hovers between 16°C and 18°C. Please refrain from refrigerating our chocolates, as this may cause sugar crystallization due to increased humidity, altering their texture and flavor.

On the contrary, if stored in excessively high temperatures, cocoa butter may separate and form a white film on the chocolate's surface. This loss of cocoa butter can lead to the chocolate drying out and, consequently, a potential alteration in flavor. Your mindful storage practices will help preserve the integrity of our delectable chocolates.
