Everyone deserves great bean-to-bar chocolate from talented chocolate makers from around the world. 

A mix of 3 single-origin dark chocolate bars made by Beau Cacao (France). These three beauties by Beau Cacao (France) are absolutely essential for understanding the difference in flavours of cacao beans.  All three represent the same Malaysian region of Borneo and are made by the same chocolate maker using the same technic and have similar cacao content of 78%. But the trick that makes their flavours differ significantly is the soil and natural surrounding of the different plantations they are sourced from. So to make sure we didn't slip up when it came to the most important craft dark chocolate of this season, we created a special Beau cacao bundle that contains all three bars. From acidic fruitiness to earthy nuttiness reflecting different cacao profiles, you will have everything to satisfy your chocolate-exploring curiosity.

What is Bean-to-bar?

Bean-to-bar or craft chocolate is a revolutionary concept that set a new standard of luxury in the chocolate industry. Craft chocolates deviate from mass-produced chocolates in that they represent only the finest and most natural ingredients, can contain rare varieties of cocoa beans, ascertain environmental conservation, and emphasise positive social impact by ensuring a sustainable ecology, community, and economy. Additionally, craft chocolate bars are exceptionally delicious and pure, relatively healthier than mass-produced chocolates, and both the bars and packaging are always beautifully designed.

Our gifts are a great example of the sustainability and reusability of their packaging. Chocolates are wrapped in Japanese-style linen fabric that later can be used as home decor or an accessory (bandana wristband, anyone?)

This very fragrant chocolate is made with beans from Peru, more precisely from the region around the Ucayali River. This is a region that has been awarded several times at the International Chocolate Awards, but which remains little known to the general public because, despite the quality of these beans, production is still very limited today. The reason is that the coca plantation there eclipsed that of the cocoa for several years. Working with USAID and Alianza Peru to provide a more profitable alternative to the cocaine market, operator Ucayali River Cacao collects and processes quality beans from a collective of nearly 400 smallholder farmers.  

This line of chocolate products reflects Chaleur's concern for quality and transparency at all stages of production. Their particular touch lies in their choice to bet on the typical aromatic profile of a given terroir.   

Note that nothing has been added to the chocolate and that the fruit flavours you will taste come directly from the bean.
